Tomorrow is weigh in!

Some days I feel like every bad food choice I have made is in neon lights on my thighs. WHY WHY WHY is it so hard to lose weight in my legs? I love the new WW tracker for dress size and measurements but I have lost 4 inches off my waist, 3 off my hips, 3 off my bust and a big ZERO off my thighs.
This will sound crazy but I am going to feel the most successful on this journey when my thighs no longer touch all the time (right now that only happens during intimate times- LOL). Maybe my thighs are reproducing - really there is enough for 2 people!! I am not sure why thighs are many women's problem point but I really need some guidence on what exercises to whittle them away. Right now I walk and do the eliptical, some squats and leg lifts- please please send more ideas - my goal for May is to get 1 inch off each thigh- anyone else want to try with me?
On the food front I am doing well and will be posting some of my favorite new healthy receipes this week. I think I will be down tomorrow but I won't know until then- I will update you after my meeting! Wish me luck!

FIBER FIBER FIBER

Did I mention that increasing your dietary fiber intake will help you lose weight? Ideally you should consume 25 grams of dietary fiber a day- but that is really a lot. First try 10 for a couple days then 15 etc..
I am up to about 40 grams a day but I cheat a little. Not really cheat but I don't eat 50 cans of spinach a day.. I use Fiber One- so yummy. I get 11 grams from my cereal, 9 g from my snack bar and 5 from my yogurt. Not to mention their bread another whopping 14 grams from 2 slices of bread! It is easy- the more fiber the less WW points and I feel satisfied longer.
If you haven't tried any of their products you should- they are great - my favorite is the key lime yogurt and the peanut oat snack bars- YUM YUM STUMMY!!!

Oh-- don't forget to drink your water- you don't wanna have a "plumbing" problem!!! Trust me everything will MOVE right along in about a week! You will be glad you did!

Weight Watchers is not at ALL what I expected

I went to my first Weight Watchers meeting on March 6th, 2009. I wasn't sure what to expect. I kinda thought of it as a 12 step program for food addicition. I imagined myself standing up and saying my name is Jennifer and I weigh 237 pounds and my biggest problem is carbohydrates. Well fortunately that isn't how it worked and I am not sure how long I would have stayed if it was.
My second thought was that it would be something like the biggest loser, but again fortunatly there is no giant scale, in fact, only the receptionist sees your weight behind a counter. Ver comforting.
So I am there, registered and waiting. Now what? I have brochures and booklets and it all seems to be overwhelming and exciting. After a short discussion about the groups weekly triumphs (including weight and as they call them "non-scale triumphs) we discuss ways to increase our activity and stop making excuses. And yes, they listed everyone of my excuses, so I knew I wasn't alone.
I am going to recount the first steps I have made with WW as well as my continuing journey. In 8 short weeks I have lost 17.6 pounds and have found the program very easy. The fact that I can have any food and nothing is off limits is a big plus- I don't feel so restricted.
I hope to hear from many of you as to your weight loss journey and any tips you may have. My ultimate goal is to lose an additional 80 pounds, but for now I am doing it one day, one pound or oz at a time!
